Ravemen PR1600 USB Rechargeable Front Light

Ravemen is derived from their passion for bike riding and concern for bike riders as well as others’ safety. Coming from different areas of the bicycle industry and being biking enthusiasts, engaging in night riding is quite normal for us. To our regret, most of the high-output bike lights on the market have no anti-glare capability, which is dangerous to oncoming traffic, and as a result places them at great risk. In fact, many people have had the experience of being dazzled by high lumen bike lights, and Ravemen believe that every rider also tries not to disturb others while enjoying the fun of riding. Based on such perception and being inspired by automotive headlights, the idea of applying a similar design to bike lights came into their minds. Through the entire process of conceiving, designing, proofing, testing and adjusting, they finally made it! That means the world’s first bike light with a simulation of the design of automotive headlights is available. Combining high quality and durable material with innovative design, along with the concern for riders and others’ safety which has been fused into their genes, Ravemen promise their products will be not only reliable and easy-to-use to improve your riding experience, but also a trusted companion that will earn you respect from others.

Mr White I bought this primarily because of the high/low beam feature with remote control. This feature is very useful and something I missed on my Cateye Volt 800. I have also read the rave reviews from cycling media. Unfortunately the light itself does not live up tp my high expectations: It does illuminate the verges (peripheral) better but the straightahead illumination is inferior to the cateye. The remote switch is really good although after using high beab, the unit reverts to the highest road bike brightness setting.
Steven I ordered this lamp so that I could undertake some winter road rides out in the Lincolnshire countryside (so no street lights). Previous front lights had either been too bright (angering oncoming motorists) or ineffective. This light gives great illumination both peripherally and forward, and the ability to use the two individual lamps as a high / low beam solution via the remote control is great. It's not the lightest of lamps (but then on my winter bike I'm not too bothered about that) but is very well built. 4 stars instead of 5 for a minor picky reason; you have the ability to select a power level (illumination) and then a high /low beam, if I select a medium power low beam, then select high beam it will take me to the max power high beam, when I then select low beam it is at maximum power, it would be good if the lamp logic returned to the previously set low beam power. Other than that minor complaint , highly recommended, what a great lamp!
Miss Diamond I am very pleased with the Ravemen light. It was purchased for night riding on a local trail and does the job perfectly casting a good pool of light exactly where you need it., I can see the road surface as clearly as in daylight. The buttons are easy to operate with winter gloves on so no problem switching between trail and road mode and fitting to the bike took 5 mins. Battery life on full power is probably about 1.5 hours as stated, maybe a bit more, after that you would need an external power source to keep going.
Mr Bohnenstingl I am using this fine product about 2 weeks now. I commute on well lit roads and bicycle lanes, so the steady light with flash comes very handy, also during daytime. I have the feeling that the traffic is aware of my presence. On this lowest beam the battery lasts for 25+ hours, as to the indication. Very good. I also tested the high beam, which instantly goes up with the remote control. Great. Much better than my former front light. Is it worth the price? It is to early to give an estimate, if it still works fine in 5 years I would definitely agree.
Stuart A really excellent light, probably the best value serious Audax type light you can buy.
Jean-Claude This light is all one could wish for! Extremely powerful, super quality finish, high capacity. Service by Merlincycles: simply excellent. Got my light a couple of days after ordering it and I live in Belgium.
bez23 Very impressed with this light. The beam cut-off is well defined and useful, throwing light where you need it rather than blinding oncoming traffic. The battery life so far seems astonishing, exceeding even the stated run-times. Road constant/flash offering 36 hours of runtime at present, and is bright enough to run all day and sufficient for well lit commutes. The remote mode select button is a nice extra, allowing quick change to a brighter setting or flip to full beam MTB mode for fast and tricky situations. Reasonable weight, when you consider other lights that offer this quality of output will require an equally weighty external battery pack. Build quality seems robust. Mount is okay - plastic, adequate. Certainly better than rubber band options. Used on a long ride recently to charge my Wahoo Bolt without significant drain to the light's runtime. Excellent product.
